I like my Wii but it’s frustrating when the Wii doesn’t sense the motions of the controller. I had problems using the original controller with my EA Sports Active workouts so I bought this figuring it may work better. Far too often the Sensor bar doesn’t pick up the movements. Hopefully when Microsoft releases their motion control it works far better than this.

I first became suspicious when I noticed I was losing all the games I played with the black controller, and winning all the ones with the white one. My friends and I experimented and confirmed that the black controller had a much greater rate of losses for whoever used it. In wii sports resort, dunks and shots were constantly missed, and in speed slice, slices were constantly misread.

We played around with it some more – we placed the black wii motion plus cover over the white controller. Turns out it is the COVER which decreases the sensitivity/accuracy of the controller. The black controller is perfectly fine. Our hypothesis is that the black cover absorbs the infrared signals to and from the controller. The clear cover transmits them.

I now have to buy a separate white wii motionplus to make up for this. And to play normal non motionplus games, I need to buy a new controller altogether. Ugh.

disappointed that you have to take the rubber protective cover off of the remote before placing on the charging pad.

It took them long enough, but Nintendo has finally come over to the dark side! Holding this black Wiimote fills one with the sense that one can conquer any video game with a single swing towards the Wii Sensor Bar. A great multitude of foes fall frequently in the wake of this controller’s dark power.

As soon as I opened the package, my Wii games started rattling and shaking as each game tried to move itself behind another. They recognized that they were no match for the black Wiimote. Suddenly, a three star rating in Mario Kart Wii was an easy feat. 242 stars in Super Mario Galaxy? No problem! Even my guitar playing in Guitar Hero 5 improved.

The addition of the Wii MotionPlus accessory is an added benefit, but it’s really more about the prestige that comes with owning your very own midnight black controller. It goes without saying that the Wii Nunchuk Controller – Black is a necessary accompaniment and proves to be a worthy companion to the black Wiimote. Get them both. You will not regret it.
